Boeing offers Canada Poseidon

In a February 10 press release, Boeing revealed its intention of offering the P-8A Poseidon in response to Canada's request for information for a long-range maritime patrol aircraft. The Canadian Multi-Mission Aircraft (CMMA) project will replace the Royal Canadian Air Force's fleet of ageing, yet still very capable, Lockheed CP-140 Auroras, and enhance the nation's anti-submarine warfare and intelligence, surveillance, andreconnaissance capabilities. With reports of more than US$5bn being allocated to the CMMA project, implementation of the newtype is expected in Fiscal Year 2027/2028 (FY27/28), initial deliveries in FY32/33 and the final delivery in FY37/38.
