Due to the increasing interest towards Internet Protocol TV (IPTV), the organizer of the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) is planning to double the exhibition space for IPTV exhibitors compared to that in 2008. This year's IBC returns to RAI Centre in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, from September 11 to 15.In 2008, the IBC organizer said it has allocated 1, 116sq.m for its IPTV zone. As more companiesexpressed their interests to exhibit in the zone, IBC has decided to secure 2,466sq.m of exhibition space for this year, which is 2.2 times more than 2008. The organizer is yet to confirm however, how many exhibitors have booked so far for the IPTV zone.This year will be the third time IBC will host an exclusive zone for IPTV. In 2008, the zone attracted 53 exhibiting companies, about 10 companies more a year ago. Among those who exhibited in the IBC 2008 are Ericsson, Thomson, and On2 Technologies, Inc.The International Broadcast Equipment Exhibition (InterBEE) 2008 held last November in Makuhari Messe, Chiba Prefecture, in Japan, also featured an IPTV Summit. Among those who participated in the summit were Motorola Inc. and Cisco Systems, Inc.
