AVZ Minerals is facing a claim for US$1.4 billion after Zijin Mining and the Democratic Republic of Congo's state arm, Cominiere, filed paperwork with the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris. The pair claims AVZ has breached the terms of a joint venture agreement signed by Dathcom Mining, in which AVZ claims to own 75, and are seeking damages and a termination of the agreement. Cominiere and Zijin own 10 and 15 of Dathcom respectively.
