1. Gulf coast refiners continued to rely on exports to offset the poor economics of shipping some products to the Atlantic coast and midcontinent markets. 2. There were opportunities to move some conventional gasoline grades from the Gulf coast to the Atlantic coast. But moving Cbob to the northeast was uneconomic thanks to a fairly high 4.75￠/USG tariff on the Colonial pipeline (see graph). There is demand in the northeast US market for the 87 Ron gasoline grade for blending Cbob or Rbob.
