2023 Preview: Lithium

There has been recent price weakness in China due to the country's COVID-19 outbreak but the outlook for lithium still remains strong. In mid-December, Citi lifted its carbonate forecast for 2023 by $20,000 to $60,000/t and its spodumene forecast by 73 to $6263/t. Citi noted stronger EV demand, especially from China, had supported prices in 2022.
