De Bolster acquires seed scanning technology from Seed-X

Dutch organic seeds business De Bolster (Epe) has acquired the seed scanning solution, GeNee, from Israeli agritech software company Seed-X (Magshimim). The former purchased the technology embedded in a sorting machine built by German company Petkus Technologie (Wutha-Farnroda). GeNee is the"world’s first” seed scanning solution that uses computer vision and artificial intelligence instead of relying on mechanical sifting processes, claims De Bolster. The technology’s seed-by-seed classification is “non-destructive”, based on image analysis, and can predict germination and"other unaddressed quality attributes”, it adds.
