Brazilian CTNBio recommends GM eucalyptus approval

Brazil's national technical biosafety commission,the CTNBio,has recommended the commercial approval of a genetically modified eucalyptus from Brazilian eucalyptus germplasm supplier Susano.The commission's environment sub-committee gave the green light to its GM glyphosate herbicide-tolerant 751K022 eucalyptus at the commission's October meeting.The human and animal health sub-committee followed that up with its own authorisation at last week's meeting.The GM event results from the genetic transformation of a clone of the FGN-K eucalyptus.
