US investment firm KKR has acquired a 13.3 stake in UPL’s seed business, Advanta Enterprises, for Rs 24,740 million ($303.7 million at the current rate). A deal to this effect was agreed in October. The development aligns with UPL’s corporate realignment plan communicated the same month. The realignment involves the company consolidating its domestic and International Seeds operations under a new Indian subsidiary, Advanta Enterprises Limited.
