Trading activity remained subdued this week which has continued to place downwards pressure on the granular MOP price, which fell by $10/t to $370-390/t cfr this week. Prices for Belarusian material were reported at $330-360/t cfr. Demand is likely to ramp up in the coming weeks for the soybean season which may provide some stability in pricing in the Brazilian market and filter through to other markets. For now, buyers remain in a wait-and-see mode, anticipating further price falls before stepping in at the last minute, though this also brings logistical concerns if this were to happen.
