Researchers develop GM dual herbicide-tolerant maize

Researchers in China have developed a genetically modied dual herbicide-tolerant maize. The GM maize is tolerant to quadruple the recommended rates for the herbicides, glyphosate and glufosinate. Scientists from the Chinese Zhejiang University’s College of Agriculture and Biotechnology developed and characterised the herbicide-tolerant maize event, SCB-29, that expresses the CP4 EPSPS and bar genes.
