EU approves France’s €215 m aid for glyphosate phase out

The European Commission has approved France’s €215 million ($230 million at the current rate) aid scheme to help mitigate the economic consequences related to the phase out of glyphosate herbicide usage. The approval comes amid the issues being amplied by Russia’s war against Ukraine. In December last year, the Commission extended the approval for glyphosate by a year until December 15th this year. The decision was made oicial through EU Regulation 2022/2364, which amended the approval period for the active ingredient.
