France bans S-metolachlor

France has banned the use of the herbicide,S-metolachlor.The French food safety agency,the Anses,has withdrawn authorization of four crop protection products containing the herbicide.These include Syngenta’s Camix and Dual Gold Safeneur,Ascenza’s Deflexo S,and Life Scientific’s SMetolastar Safeneur.Furthermore,the agency has cancelled approval for certain uses of five other products and four parallel trade permits of products containing the active ingredient.
