Intelinair to acquire Aker Technologies

US crop intelligence provider Intelinair (Indianapolis, Indiana) is to acquire Effingham, Illinois-based US digital agriculture business Aker Technologies. The development follows the entities forging a multi-year distribution deal in November last year to deliver "enhanced" crop health imagery and analytics to growers. Intelinair notes that the latter's technology complements its portfolio of "high-resolution" imagery and data analytics focused on the "season long" management of fields, adding that the acquisition would enable it to expand its footprint by leveraging drone-based digital agronomy tools. The company also anticipates the purchase enhancing the capabilities of its AGMRI crop intelligence platform.
