Costa Rica removes 10 import tax on European beers

Costa Rica has agreed to remove a 10% tax on imported beers that hindered European sales to the country. The European Commission announced the decision on 16 February, saying it would give EU beers “equal access” to the Costa Rican market and enable exports to the country to grow. The EU's executive claimed that the 10% tax put European beers at a disadvantage by making them more expensive than local beers.
