Japanese manganese alloy market inactive

Nominal prices for manganese alloys have climbed in Japan in April as India has announced a national lockdown. Still, deals in the free market have been rare. By the end of April, SiMn (65 Mn; 16 Si) has been offered at $1,050-1,150/t CIF ($960/t CIF in March) and HC FeMn (75 Mn) - at $1,000-1,050/t CIF ($990-1,020/t CIF). Trading cannot recover in the Japanese spot market for manganese alloys as there is enough material being supplied under long-term contracts. Besides, there is no support from the consuming industry amid tougher preventive measures to fight the epidemic.
