Water sensor tool for precision farming

摘要

Farmers can save water and energy, reduce tree maintenance, and sustain maximum yield and watering plants on demand by using Yara ZIM water sensor technology. Yara has developed a continuous, nondestructive, and remote measurement technology that determines plant water status in real time via the internet. It enables water to be applied on demand to optimize water resources. In the past two years, validation trials carried out at olive and citrus farms in Spain demonstrated that the Yara water technology helped farmers reduce water consumption significantly without reducing the quality and quantity of the crop yield.
