Stowage guidance

Japanese class society Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK) has published advice entitled Guidelines on Container Stowage and Securing Arrangements. ClassNK conducted an extensive study in the late 1980s regarding the stowage and securing of cargo and published a summary of its findings as the GuidetoCargo Stowage and Securing Arrangements in 1988. Available in Japanese only, it described the standards for cargo stowageand securing that were current at the time. Since then, however, methods for stowing and securing containers have become increasingly diverse.
