Avacta Animal Health (2020a) stated that allergic skin disease is believed to affect 10 per cent to 30 per cent of the canine population, and 10 per cent to 20 per cent of the feline population. An allergy can be definedas a hypersensitivity causing immune response. These responses are mediated by antibodies or inflammatory cells.
