Goldenport switches box to bulk

Greek shipowner Goldenport has switched an existing order for a container ship at a Chinese shipyard to a post-Panamax bulk carrier. The 2,500teu box ship was part of an orderfortwo such vessels placed in September 2007 at Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding for $47M/ vessel, with delivery for both ships due in April 2011. They were assigned hull numbers 2007-815C and 2007-816C. It is the second hull which is understood to have been switched in to a 92,500dwt bulker. Delivery is expected to be in line with the original delivery date.
