Waertsilae deal for China

Medium-speed marine engines are to be manufactured in Zhuhai, China, in a 50/50 joint venture by Waertsilae and Yuchai Marine Power (YCMP). The venture will focus on serving Chinese shipbuilding. Operations in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, will begin in 2 014 and will assemble and test Waertsilae 20, Waertsilae 26, and Waertsilae 32 engines. Waertsilae' will invest about ? 17M (22.7 USD) in the joint venture with YCMP, a subsidiary of Guangxi Yuchai Group, subject to regulatory approval.
