China's steelmakers raise August FeSi prices

Chinese steelmakers have raised their ferro-silicon tender purchase prices for August delivery on tight alloy availability following a sustained energy control policy in the major production hub of Ningxia province. Private-sector steelmaker Nanjing Iron Steel's (Nisco) tender price stood at 9,000-9,100 yuan/t ($1,391-1,407/t) paid by acceptance bill for 2,500t of 72pc grade alloy, up by Yn250/t from July. Fellow steel producer Sanming Steel purchased around 2,500t of 72pc grade alloy at Yn9,150/t paid half by acceptance bill and half by cash, up by Yn460/t against last month.
