South32 raises September Mn ore export prices

Australia-based mining firm South32 has lifted its export prices for September shipment of Australian manganese ore to China, boosted by expectations of firm demand from Chinese alloy plants and trading firms. But it cut its offer for South African ore as plentiful inventories at China's main ports and alloy output curbs have reduced buying appetite for the material. The firm lifted its offer price for 45pc lumpy manganese ore to $5.60/metric tonne unit (mtu) cif China for September shipment, up by $0.10/mtu for August. Its offer for Australian 45.5pc chip manganese ore moved up to $5.33/mtu cif China from $5.23/mtu cif China in August.
