A Tokyo-headquartered company's vessel fought off pirates and managed to continue on its voyage. The 8,120TEU Hamburg Bridge was attacked and fired at by pirates in a high speed boat about 250 miles east of the Gulf of Aden on Monday, April 5. Pirates tried to ambush the vessel for around 45 minutes, but the ship accelerated recently and took 'evasive manoeuvres', according to a statement.
