EFIS-EJI Ita Askonas Award 2021

The Ita Askonas Award was established in 2009 by the European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS) and the European Journal of Immunology (EJI) with the aim of acknowledging and raising the profile of outstanding female group leaders in immunology. EFIS and EJI are delighted to announce the recipient of the 2021 EFIS-EJI Ita Askonas Award is Christiane Opitz, Group Leader at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and Resident in the Neurology Clinic, University Hospital Heidelberg, Germany. The prize consists of a € 20,000 cash award and is formally conferred in conjunction with the triennial European Congress of Immunology (ECI). The award ceremony took place on 2 September 2021 during the Virtual ECI 2021. Registered attendees can watch the ceremony on demand via the congress platform.
