Letter: Visual acuity improvement in acute non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy treated with intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide injection.

EDITOR: We thank Dr Hu and Dr Chen for their interest in our article 'Intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide injection for acute non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy'.1 We appreciate their comments on the subject and agree that eccentric fixation may well be the cause of visual acuity improvement in eyes with acute non-arteritic ischaemic optic neuropathy (NAION) and also spontaneous improvement may occur in some cases during the course of events.
