Chinese steel export price plunges as lockdowns depress demand

Chinese steel export prices fell broadly and sharply in the past month, as demand was moribund in both domestic and export markets amid Covid lockdowns around the country. Between 15 April and 13 May, CRU China HR coil export price index lost $80 /t or 9.4. HR coil domestic price was down by 6.6, and rebar local price lost 3.6 during the period.
