Slovakia: Visteon starts Nitra operations

VISTEON has launched production of automotive components at its new manufacturing plant in Slovakia. The company initially announced plans to invest in the Nitra plant in October 2004. The Nitra facility manufactures interior and climate control components and is expected to help Visteon to serve the rapidly expanding automotive market in Slovakia and Eastern Europe. Currently, the Nitra plant supplies door panels for PSA Peugeot-Citroen's new Peugeot 207. Visteon claims that its 13,500sq-m Nitra facility has state-of-the-art injection moulding equipment and is designed for in-sequence production and shipping of door panels to PSA's assembly plant in Trnava, located 45km from Nitra.
