Report of AIRIA (ER) interactive meet for a 'Seminar on Goods and Service Tax (GST)' at 6:00pm, on Monday, 19th September, 2016 at AIRIA (ER) office at Karnani Estate

With the declaration from the Government of India that GST will be applicable tentatively from the next financial year viz. 1st of April, 2017, the captioned seminar was organised by All India Rubber Industries Association (Eastern Region) at the office of AIRIA (ER). All industry players has their eyes keenly riveted on the implementation of the GST, as this biggest tax reform since independence, generally raises several concerns for different industry players. The MSMEs of the rubber industry being one of the unorganised sector were more inquisitive and fascinated to grasp the know-how's of this legislation along with its benefits, positive impacts and challenges. As we are aware that the GST council working on this legislation also comprises PWC (PricewaterhouseCoopers Pvt. Ltd.) as the consultant and Infosys as a partner to develop the IT infrastructure. Thus the secretariat of AIRIA (ER) roped in and invited the speaker of GST, Shri Gopal Agarwal, Director, Tax & Regulatory Services, PWC.
