A hot start to U.S. coal exports in January did an absolute about-face on its way to a frigidly feeble February. Two months into 2019 and it’s already been a strange year for U.S. suppliers and traders who racked up big export numbers throughout most of 2018. The February total, according to data released by T. Parker Host on Thursday, was 5.93 million metric tonnes – no drumroll necessary.
