The role of interval surgery in the treatment's strategy of advanced ovarian cancer

The extent of cytoreductive surgery and the: amount of residual disease are among the most important factors impacting the survival of women with advanced ovarian cancer. Chronology of treatment is still debating. In the French standardtreatment, primary surgery remains the cornerstone and interval surgery is an option. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by surgery may reduce morbidity and mortality. Nevertheless the impact of this strategy on survival is still controversial.
