摘要

International food conglomerate Cargill has been ordered to pay £620,095 in fines and costs after a lorry driver was buried under a mound of soya meal. The incident occurred at its terminal at Seaforth Dock in Liverpool on 6 September 2012. Malcolm Harrison, who visited the terminal regularly, was at the site collecting soya meal. He had got out of his lorry cab, as permitted in the area, and was close to a stockpile of meal when its face collapsed, leaving him buried. He died from his injuries in hospital.
