KEK denies buying from KESH

Kosovo's power company KEK has denied reports that it has been buying electricity from Albania's KESH in recent weeks and explained that all the energy received was imported on an exchange basis. KEK has been receiving up to 300 MW per hour or around 5.6 GWh per day since December 26 - the maximum that transmission capacity permitted - in order to help KESH overcome difficulties in its hydropower sector stemming from snow melt and strong rainfall.
