Africa to light up Africa

A new network of African researchers has been set up to encourage the development of solar power across the continent. It is appropriate that the first international meeting of the African Network for Solar Energy (ANSOLE), ANSOLE DAYS 2012 coincideswith the United Nations International Year for Sustainable Energy for All. ANSOLE is the brainchild of Dr Daniel A. M. Egbe who is a professor of organic chemistry at the Johannes Kepler University Linz, in Austria. He was surprised to discover at a conference in Tunisia in 2010 that two of his African colleagues, who worked on solar energy, did not know each other.
