I really love my job sometimes. Every now and then I get to sit behind the wheel of one of the best-developed cars in the world and take it out for a spin. It's a real perk. But it's a perk that I lost when the global pandemic quickly took it away from me. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I am fully aware of the privileged position that I'm in. But that isn't to say I didn't miss it. May has been circled in my calendar for quite a while. Not because the UK is beginning to return to something resembling normal and I can sit inside a pub with my friends, but because the test cars have returned to ETi HQ. First on the list, the Porsche Taycan Turbo. And what a car. You'll get the full lowdown in the next issue of the magazine, but it's safe to say I'm a fan. The technology behind the Stuttgart brand's first BEV is seriously impressive, the performance is undoubtable, and despite my own fears, it feels unique compared with any BEV I've driven yet. Pretty much perfect.
