Market of coal coke in Ukraine over January-September 2003

The article analyzes production and foreign trade of Ukraine in coal coke over the first nine months of 2003. production volumes of coal coke over January-September 2003 have augmented by approximately 13 percent (by more than 1.8 mn tons) versus figures of the same period of 2002 constituting about 15.4 mn tons. Tentatively 1.65 mn tons of coal coke for the total amount exceeding USD 125 mn has been exported in the period under review. Shipments have more than doubled if compared with the corresponding figures of January - September 2002. average price for output herewith increased from USD/MT 60 to USD/MT 76. in accordance with preliminary data of the first nine months of 2003, approximately 850 ths. Tons of coal coke was imported to Ukraine for the total sum of about USD 79 mn. Import volumes diminished roughly by 8-9 percent against the same period of 2002. average prices herewith increased by USD/MT 28 in the period under review making approximately USD/MT 92.
