Grenache Blanc, or should it be Garnacha Blanca as it is known broadly in Spain, or Garnatxa Blanca as it's named in its homeland of Catalunya? We have all heard of the Pinot family: there is Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and the hairy leafed Pinot Meunier. What many people are not aware of is that Grenache has a very similar familial diversity, including a hairy cousin! There is Grenache Noir, Grenache Gris, Grenache Blanc and the hairy leafed Garnacha Peluda. The most common (and the varietyI'm sure we've all tried) is Grenache Noir, but here we will introduce you to the lesser known Grenache varieties, as you may soon be asking for them by name.
