摘要

Sixteen mothers-to-be are being held in the Alutiiq Pride Shellfish Hatchery in Seward, Alaska, as the first broodstock in a major long-term experiment to regenerate the state's Red King Crab (RKC) commercial fishery - once the envy of the world. Theprogram is being spearheaded in large part by the college section of the Alaska Sea Grant Program, under director Brian Alice, who stressed that there is much grassroots support for the fledgling project.
