A study by a group of European and Canadian scientists has made some important discoveries regarding the miniscule plankton organisms that are eaten by newly hatched European eel larvae feeding in the wild. And the study - which drew scientists from research institutes in Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Austria and Canada — pinpoints gelatinous zooplankton as a particularly common prey, a piece of knowledge which may prove fmitful for the eel-aquaculture industry in the future.
