Clay treatment raises productivity at Canadian cod hatchery

Researchers at the Dr. Joe Brown Aquatic Research Building In Newfoundland, together with a UK consultancy company RSP Services Ltd report a breakthrough in marine species production. When the rest of the cod world went into recession, Canada continued with its programme to produce cod juveniles in a hatchery at the Dr. Joe Brown Aquatic Research Building (JBARB) of the Ocean Sciences Centre, Memorial University of Newfoundland. However, following poor production results in 2008, the JBARB facility and business manager, Danny Boyce decided to seek assistance from the commercial sector. He hired the UK consultancy company RSP Services Ltd headed by ex-Marine Farms manager Richard Prickett to help improve production.
