Pilot data from a study on Adantic salmon eggs and alevins indicate that stress experienced during embryogenesis may have fitness implications later in life.The Effect of early stress on disease resistance of Atlantic salmon, a studyspearheaded by Prof. Carlos Garcia de Leibniz, Prof. Sonia Consuegra and Dr. Tamsyn Uren-Webster at the Center for Sustainable Aquatic Research at Swansea University in Wales, examined how epigenetic mechanisms can help manage stress and disease resistance in Atlantic salmon.
