Everyone is talking about Artificial Intelligence, one of the central keys to realizing applications such as autonomous driving. Nonetheless, after a long period of developing the requisite methods and instruments, there is once again the threat of an artificial-intelligence winter setting in with ensuing stagnation: The crucial aspect here will lie in finding ways of configuring the tools and methods that are available with a view to validating and verifying systems in terms of providing the homologation needed for them. IAV’s paper reflects the available function building blocks and methods for developing systems and validating functions on the path to the autonomous vehicle.
