ATZlive Powertrain Conference on a Joint Platform

Reports in the media and discussions in expert forums are often overshadowed by polemic and unnecessarily polarizing positions: for and against combustion engines or electrified powertrains. In order to promote a balanced discussion of a meaningful, user-oriented and sustainable (cradle-to- cradleoriented) vehicle powertrain portfolios, the ATZlive and ATZ/ MTZ editors have decided to merge the two previously separate congresses into a single event: the International MTZ congress The Powertrain of Tomorrow and the ATZ congress Grid Integration & Electrified Mobility. Both congresses deepen the exchange of expert views in parallel lecture threads on specific topics and also promote interdisciplinary discussion in joint panel sessions. One of the core topics resulting from the merging of both congresses into joint sessions is the evaluation of current lifecycle analyses that will be compiled to enable the comparison of all powertrain variants. Discussions will center on the current but also the future generation of energy supply chains with the goal of achieving a circular material flow, as well as the maturity of regionally different levels of development of charging infrastructure for electrified powertrains and the provision of alternative fuels for future combustion engines. The transitions in energy and powertrains are closely interlinked. All the more reason to continue to build a community of experts from all rele vant decision-making levels. ATZlive’s industrial partners and the ATZ/ MTZ editors are contributing in a technology-neutral and objective manner.
