There is an ambiguous situation in the Azov Sea freight market. The gap in charterers’ ideas on the same route reaches $3-4/t atthe moment. As expected, shortage of open vessels has outlined in the region, as shipping was actually paralyzed by adverse weatherduring the last week. The charterers face difficulties finding open vessels. This causes speculations and excitement in the spot market.However, negotiating shipments in 2H March, many charterers are trying to lower the rates, pinning hopes for better weather conditionsand cancellation of ice restrictions.
