Despite the fact that cargo traffic is not growing further in the Black Sea and has even slowed down slightly by mid-Nov, small-tonnageowners remain very bullish, as spot tonnage list is still short (particularly this applies to vessels of up to 7k dwt).The number of new grain offers has decreased, particularly of firm ones. High owners’ ideas hamper traders’ sales. The bid/offergap now often reaches $5-7/t. So, owners are seeking to get $24-25/t for shipment of 5-6,000 t of grain from Berdyansk or Mariupolto the eastern Mediterranean. The level of $25/t is the best seen from owners for transportation of 6,000 t of wheat from Berdyanskto the southern Adriatic, while $24/t is the best seen for shipment to Patras. At the same time, charterers now offer mere $21/t fortransportation of 6,000 t of wheat from Berdyansk to Mersin. Charterers offer $18/t for shipment of 7,000 t of corn from Varna toIsrael. 5,000 t of corn have been fixed from Galati to Ravenna at $25/t.
