Rio Tinto Rejects BHP Billiton's Renewed Offer of 3.4 Shares per Rio Tinto Share

The Boards of Rio Tinto have rejected BHP Billiton's most recent pre-conditional offers to acquire the whole of the issued share capital of Rio Tinto pic and Rio Tinto Limited whereby each Rio Tinto share would be exchanged for 3.4 BHP Billiton shares. Rio Tinto Boards have concluded that the offers "significantly undervalue the company," leading to the unanimous rejection of BHP Billiton's offers.
