Mathematical modelling is one of the techniques that makes it possible to study and observe the course of steelmaking processes with a view to the optimization of conditions for the manufacture of good quality products [1-4]. The formation of non-metallic inclusions (NMI) in liquid steel is an undesirable phenomenon, as NMIs are the source of defects that may disqualify the steel products.
