Japan's chemical companies are growing their profits in the realm of contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) operations for biopharmaceuticals. With biopharmaceuticals anticipated to show annual growth of 9 percent or higher going forward, these bio-CDMO operations are expected to continue growing at around 10 percent annually, benefiting as outsourcing becomes an increasingly popular approach for pharmaceutical companies and drug discovery ventures weighing up their options for development and manufacturing.
