As companies look to set up a circular economy,they will need to clear a number of hurdles,including not only technological development but also the mass procurement of renewable raw materials.BASF SE,for one,is aiming to utilize 250,000 tons of recycled and waste raw materials per year by 2025.This has seen the chemical giant look to expand its chemical recycling operations for plastic waste by partnering with Quantafuel ASA,a Norwegian company specializing in the pyrolysis and refining of mixed plastic waste,and Remondis SE & Co.KG,a German waste and water management company.Together,the three companies are looking to determine what parts of the plastic waste provided by Remondis would be usable in chemical recycling.
