EU decides not to renew indoxacarb approval

The European Commission has decided not to renew the approval of the insecticide, indoxacarb. The Commission proposed the non-renewal in August. In its assessment, the European Food Safety Authority has identified concerns relating to: the high long-term risk to wild mammals for all representative uses; a high risk to consumers and workers for use in lettuces; and a high risk to bees for uses in maize, sweetcorn and lettuces for seed production.
