EU renews flumioxazin approval

The European Commission has renewed the approval of the herbicide, flumioxazin. The renewed approval comes into effect on March 1st 2022 and is effective for 15 years until February 28th 2037. The active ingredient was previously given an approval extension until June 30th 2022. In June, the European Parliament objected to the Commission’s decision to extend the approval and called upon the Commission to propose a non-renewal.
